Ralph L. Whitt, Jr. received his Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of Virginia in 1977, and his law degree from the University of Richmond in 1981. Ralph was a member of the University of Richmond’s National Moot Court team and McNeill Law Society honoring those in the top 10% of the first-year law class. Ralph has been voted by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the area of workers’ compensation law each year from 1999 to 2010. In September of 2009, Ralph received the distinction of having been voted “Best Lawyer” in his field ten consecutive years. Ralph is a member of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, having served previously as chairman of its workers’ compensation section and on its Board of Directors. Ralph is also a member of the Local Government Attorneys of Virginia where he currently chairs the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. Ralph is a member of the Defense Research Institute and Ralph and the firm are members of the Virginia Self-Insurers Association. Ralph also serves on the Virginia Business Coalition Committee that oversees legislation that impacts businesses and workers’ compensation law. Although Ralph represents clients in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation, he has extensive experience defending local government entities against claims brought by public safety employees under the presumption for heart disease, lung disease and various cancers.
Michael P. Del Bueno graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1992 and received his law degree from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware in 1996. Since being admitted to the Virginia bar in October of 1996, Mike has practiced primarily in the area of insurance defense and workers’ compensation law. Mike writes articles on workers’ compensation issues in Whitt & Del Bueno’s e-newsletter, COMPlete Success. Mike is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys.Amber L. Ford earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 2006, and her law degree magna cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2010. While in law school, Amber was a member of the Client Counseling & Negotiation Board, the McNeill Law Honor Society, the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. American Inn of Court, as well as holding leadership positions in the Student Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta, the American Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association, and the Women’s Law Student Association. Amber also received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for achieving the highest grade in the school’s Bankruptcy and Wills and Trusts classes. Prior to joining Whitt & Del Bueno, Amber served as a law clerk for the Henrico County Circuit Court as well as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephen R. McCullough at the Court of Appeals of Virginia. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar.
